As in Lausanne last year, Victoria FOSS4G will also have some Ominiverdi LiveCDs.
We'll produce a Ka-Map LiveCD but, as Doktoreas enhanced the customization process, the LiveCD production cycle has become more efficient.
It's our pleasure to announce that QGIS will have its own liveCD for its workshop and that Gary Sherman kindly donated to our project. His comment here: "Thanks for the great (and fast) work on the LiveCD and the customized QGIS CD. It works great and has everything needed for a successful workshop. "
The customization on the LiveCD, in this case, will allow the user to run both QGIS version 8.1 and the new Release Candidate for version 0.9. Both configurations will be able to access PostGIS Datasets as far as local datasets and WMS pre-configured server list. All that a dummy user needs to have ready to understand QGIS features.
QGIS liveCD is derived directly from our Desktop LiveCD 2007.1.
