When I've read
Tyler's post on "bridgware" I've immediatly thought at the hard job that has be done at
FAO to publish a lot of ESRI Coverages with Mapserver.
Jeroen Ticheler, managing the job, introduced me to his ARC GIS module to do part of the process: from the ARC GIS layout to an ARC IMS AXL file. Cute work.
Then an XSL file to transform the XML of the AXL file to a mapfile compatible to Mapserver.
I've tried to mess that XSL up for our own project and create a ton of mapile.
Pretty tricky but the project ended fine.
Today Jeroen finally published an
update to his module. Now it does it all without the tricky part as
he explains in this post.
Final XSL can be customize for any kind of interest.
Thanks Jeroen
