knowing that one of the name that brought Android into fame is now going down, doesn't make anyone happy

actually my first Android phone was HTC, the Magic, I loved it until I've understood software updates would not happen as under Linux, my favorite desktop platform.

Since I only bought Nexus things because I really like the idea to have the latest software on my terminal; both for quality and security reasons.
all latest updates from Google showed increase in performances and in the user experience.
Security? yes, even just because it takes time to develop malware on a new platform. Another important index is about the slow adoption of the latest version of the software for older phones that fragments the share of the market, the bigger share is still with Android 2.3 while 4.1 has 2% thanks to who has nexus devices.

my proposal?
Please HTC, do and maintain a Nexus vanilla experience set of devices. No Sense interface, no delays on updates. No money wasted, no time lost for your clients.

why do I believe in my proposal?
I like my Nexus but if I could have the same software experience with the One X, I would totally run and buy the latter.
Since the first time I had it in my hands I thought it was the best piece of hardware I had in my hands so far. No Samsung thing offers the same feeling to me.
I didn't buy it just because of the software choices it offers.

I know I can take one and put CM9 on. Voiding the warranty doesn't feels so good though.

even better?
distribute a developer version with Ubuntu for Android and make me dream.
open drivers? why not?

suggesting android to an ex-iphone user

one year ago was still not easy to recommend 100% a Google phone or any other alternatives with Android on in front of an iPhone.
Now it's really easy.

my friend loves to take pictures while traveling, listen to music and emailing.

all cameras in the last year top class phones are more than enough. easy to say as manufacturers stopped raising the bar of the mega pixels and started targeting the user experience.
doesn't matter what's the Android phone you choose, all best picture apps are available for both iphone and android.

listen to music starts to become a serious point in favor of Android.
it's true that the itunes store has the best variety in its library, Google Play still have to run but has a beginning.
anyway when you get to move your personal library of music around your devices, iphone becomes a total mess. no way to cleanly plug your phone to a whatever computer and drag and drop an album, as easy as should be.
with android you access your data and music as on a pen drive, plug in and copy. feels good
more over, the Google Play Music offers the chance to upload up to 20000 songs and sync or stream with your devices. takes a moment to understand but works great.

emailing? Gmail honestly rocks. All contacts, calendar, notes synced for free and much more.
even if you get a new phone, you login, connect to Internet and sync in a minute.

mu recommendations:
- Nexus Galaxy
- Samsung Galaxy S3
- HTC One X

It took a moment to understand why both command line and php mailing processes were taking ages to accomplish.

checking /var/log/mail.log said:

May 17 08:13:01 ip-10-125-9-183 sm-mta[26006]: My unqualified host name (mydomail) unknown; sleeping for retry

I've been checking that the hostname ("cat /etc/hostname") was the same defined into sendmail and hosts.

I've finally changed /etc/hosts like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost mydomain localhost. mydomail.

note the dots added to the domain name.

once updated sendmail started responding immediately

finally, if you don't want your email to get into spam folders automatically, write this form:
https://aws-portal.amazon.com/gp/aws/html-forms-controller/contactus/ec2-email-limit-rdns-request
